NYC Editorial Fashion Experience

What to Expect

Please email info@depaolapictures.com for

date availability.

Spend a full day in New York City shooting side by side with photographer and director Mark de Paola, working through 3-4 fully styled looks to build a complete fashion editorial. With 30 years shaping campaigns for Vogue, Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Estée Lauder, and work held in the permanent collections of MoMA and The Getty, Mark brings the full weight of a working studio to this experience: professional styling, hair and makeup, production, and agency talent, all built around a singular creative.

This is a true mentorship on set. Mark will be shooting alongside you throughout the day, guiding your eye, sharing his approach in real time, and helping you direct each look from concept through final frame, informed by his signature study of how the eye and mind actually perceive motion and form. Expect a collaborative set, hands-on creative decisions, and a small team assembled specifically to bring the day's vision to life.

By day's end, you walk away with a fully realized fashion editorial, and the experience of having made it under the direct mentorship of Mark de Paola.

NYC Editorial Fashion Experience

It’s In The Details

Weather: Please refer to your experience date(s) to plan accordingly. Some editorial shoots may take place in studio as shooting on location in NYC in the winter is not feasible. Coordinate with production prior to your experience to gauge best attire.

Gear: Please bring the gear that you are comfortable wearing on your person. Do not bring any lights/reflectors/large lighting contraptions. Gear should fit into a concise camera bag.

Walking: Bring comfortable shoes that you can stand and walk between locations for editorials that are shooting outside.

Production Protocol: All participants will be thoroughly briefed on production protocol and will be expected to follow all such guidelines in order to provide the most incredible experience. Call times and details for your assigned editorial shoot will be provided in the final call sheet the day before the shoot.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Wide Open Art experiences are intentionally limited in size to ensure meaningful creative exchange. Because each registration reserves a place within a small cohort and allows us to confirm artists, venues, and production commitments, participants are asked to review the following cancellation policy before registering.

Full tuition is due at the time of registration.

Participant Cancellations

  • More than 60 days before the experience: Full refund.

  • 30–60 days before the experience: 50% refund.

  • Less than 30 days before the experience: No refund.

If a participant cancels and Wide Open Art is able to fill the space from the waitlist, Wide Open Art may, at its sole discretion, issue a credit toward a future Wide Open Art experience. Credits are valid only for experiences produced solely by Wide Open Art and may not be applied to partnership experiences.

Experience Cancellation

Should Wide Open Art cancel an experience due to force majeure, artist illness, insufficient enrollment, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our reasonable control, participants will receive a full refund of all fees paid to Wide Open Art. Wide Open Art is not responsible for airfare, accommodations, travel insurance, or any other expenses incurred outside of the experience fee. Participants are strongly encouraged to purchase comprehensive travel insurance.
